DIX has extensive workshop fabrication facilities to allow efficient and quality fabrication of structural, mechanical and piping in a range of materials including Mild Steel, Stainless Steel and Aluminum. We manufacture specialized metalwork items locally in Australia cost-effectively for our clients at a high level of quality, and are supported by strong network of raw material suppliers.
DIX is capable of fabrication of tanks, vessels, chutes and conveyors, and structures across light, medium and heavy grades of specialized structural fabrication.
All supporting items such as handrails, grid mesh and floor plate can be undertaken for complete projects fabricated in one location.
DIX the has capability to perform a range of fabrication welding processes.
- GMAW – Gas Metal Arc Welding (Mig)
- GTAW – Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (Tig)
- FCAW – Flux Core Arc Welding
- MMAW – Manual Metal Arc Welding (Stick)
DIX has qualified Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS), associated Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) and Welder Qualification Records (WQR) to complete structural and pressure welding work in accordance with Australian Standards (AS1554.1 and AS3992) and project specifications.

The Dix foundry employs skilled moulders and uses certified material ingot, meeting Australian Standards for all castings. These factors have enabled us to provide quality castings for further machining, with confirmation of material chemical composition, if required.
The foundry is structured to handle both jobbing and production orders for castings, in green sand. This material enables the team to manufacture smaller components in a cost-effective manner.
We use induction furnaces for melting, which is complimented by our complete, modern engineering shop, should value-added services be required.
